 Watermelon comes from the family of cucurbitaleae and it’s broadly known for its unique taste and flavour. It is found in different parts of the world and Nigeria is not an exception.
Watermelon contains pantothemic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin B-6, thiamin, riboflarin, zinc, magnesium, copper, 92% water amongst others. All these contents in the melon are important to the human body in several ways.
There are generally different types of watermelons, ranging from; seeded, seedless, mini (also known as personal), yellow and orange.
So many people take watermelon for its great taste, while others for its rich water content,or for its flavour. What most people don’t know about watermelon is the benefits it has just like many other vegetables and fruits. Below are some of the singularities performed by this great ‘hero’ fruit whose songs of praise are hardly heard.

Digestion and Orderliness: Watermelon contains fibre which helps in preventing constipation and also promotes orderliness for a healthy digestive tract.
Blood Pressure: The American Journal published a study on hypertension that watermelon extract supplementation reduces ankle, brachial blood pressures.
Hydration: Watermelon has about 92% of water which helps in hydration and regaining energy in the body.
Muscle tenderness: The amino acid content in watermelon helps reduce tenderness of the muscle.
It should be noted that the above listed wonders of watermelon are just few amongst others. Also, research studies have shown that people who recurrently take fruits such as watermelon have minimal risks for obesity and diabetes.  It also helps in keeping a healthy complexion and hair, increases energy and helps in weight control and reduction.
