ISHAKU SAMAILA JILEMSAM: Our Hope, Our Choice




Ishaku S. Jilemsam, born 28/10/68 to Samuel and Suzan Jilemsam of Jilem, Chakfem District, Mangu LGA, Plateau State, Nigeria. He attended LGED Primary School, Chakfem (1976-1981, FSLC), Nakam Memorial School, Panyam (1981-1986, WASC), College of Education, Akwanga (1988-1992, NCE), Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi (1995-1999, BTech), London Metropolitan University (2003-2004, MBA) and University of Aberdeen, Scotland (2008-2009, MSc). 

He started his work experience as a physics/chemistry/integrated science teacher at Command Day Secondary School, Maitama, Abuja (1992-2003). While in the UK, he worked at McDonalds, Dominion Centre, MEC International, ASDA and Schlumberger. Upon his return to Nigeria in 2009, he worked at Deltahan Nigeria Ltd, a thriving real estate firm where he rose to the position of Managing Director. He founded Shwartung Integrated Services Ltd in 2012 with interests in real estate, consulting and agriculture. In 2016, he took a position at Yelwa Club briefly before joining Nigeria Incentive-based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) an agriculture de-risking and agribusiness facilitation company of the CBN where he managed 37 LGAs (Adamawa & Taraba States and later only Adamawa) until his resignation to run for House of Reps (Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency of Plateau State) out of a strong desire to share his experience with constituents. He is a facilitator with the Institute for National Transformation (INT) and a business consultant with Fingertips Enterprise Development Partners International Ltd (FEDPIL). 

During his school days, he was active in students union activities as member of Students Representative Assembly (COE Akwanga), President, National Association of Mwaghavul Students (NAMS, COE Akwanga), member Judicial Committee, ATBU Bauchi. He was also Vice President of NIFES, ATBU Bauchi. Between 2013-2017, he was the Chairman of Chakfem Development Association. 
Mr Jilemsam has travelled to many countries including the United Kingdom, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Turkey, Greece, Malta, Egypt, Ghana and Israel. He has schoolmates from over twenty countries. He is married to Grace Jilemsam and together, they have three boys. 

His legislative and developmental interests span from education, infrastructure development, agriculture, economic development, security, technology development, employment solutions, power solutions, strategic manpower development, sports development,  expansion of rural economy and the creation of an enabling environment wherein everyone can attain their God given potential. He believes everyone should be given equal opportunity regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnicity.
