Dr. Haruna Khitwe Dabin, mni 

Haruna Khitwe Dabin was born on May 1^st, 1959; and since coming to age, has demonstrated great passion as a Servant of God and His humanity. He is the Husband of one female wife- Jemima Nenpinmwa: his life –long partner and friend. The marriage is blessed with four (4) biological children and very many spiritual, social and political children. As at today, God has graciously expanded them with several grandchildren. The grace of God located him early in life, and has enjoyed the calling to be a SHEPHERD through many platforms: Spiritual, Social, Academic, Political, etc.

A clear VISION defines his focus in life: A Servant, Husband, Team Player, and Friend. Thus as his MISSION he set out to be a faithful Servant of God and His humanity; an Efficient Channel of God’s resources; a Dependable Husband and Friend; a Resources; a dependable Husband and friend; a Resourceful Team player; a Robust resources person in the Development of Economic and Political Systems, and an Advocate for Democracy; an Effective Leadership development catalyst; and an Excellent resource person on issues of Development and on Development of issues.

He started schooling from EKAN Transferred Primary School, Kalashi, Amper in Kanke L.G.A of Plateau State (1967-1973), and was later admitted into Government College Keffi, nasarawa State (1973-1978). For tertiary education, he enrolled into the University of Jos (1978-1983) and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1985-1988) and 2000-2007 where he studied and earned B.Sc (Hons) Economics (1983), M.Sc Political Economy and Development studies (1988), and Ph.d Political Science (2007). He was also a Participant of the Senior Executive Course 24 (2002) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, after which he was inducted as a member of the National Institute (mni).

Concerning leadership and community service, he was the Chairman, Ngas Youth Movement (1988-1991); Political Adviser to the third republic Plateau State Governor (1991-1993); Chairman, Anglo Jos Community Development Association (1994-1996); National Treasurer, Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) (1993-1996); Adviser on Economic Affairs to the PDP National Chairman (2008-2010); Vice-President, Alumni Association of the national Institute (AANI) (2008-2010); and currently serves as the Chairman, BOT of the Chapel of salvation, NIPSS, Kuru (2013-present); among several others.

He started his working career with the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) as Training Secretary (1983-1986); then to the University of Jos, Jos as a Lecturer in Economics (1986-1994). At the Yakubu Gowon Centre, Abuja, he served as the first Director of the Centre (1994-1997). He also worked as member of the National Economic Intelligence Committee (NEIC), the Presidency (1999-2006). He worked for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at various levels, including being the foundation Administrative Secretary (1999); and operating the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI)- the Think Tank and Human Resources Development Base of the Party as its Director General (2000-2006); and as the Plateau State Chairman at its most trying period (2010-2014). After sojourning for many years in active politics, he again took up appointment as a Lecturer in Political Science at the Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos (2015-2018).

By conviction, he opted rather to be a member of the Providence People’s Congress (PPC), where he is the Trustee of the party. He has waded through difficult and challenging responsibilities in politics and in government, through which to the glory of God, he served commendably. His hobbies include Reading, Research and gardening.

The 29^th of September, 2018 brought about the emergence of Dr. Haruna Khitwe Dabin, mni as the Providence People’s Congress (PPC) Gubernatorial candidate for the 2019 general elections in Nigeria. At the same primary elections which took place in Panyam, Barrister Macartan Na’anzem Dongtoe, LP, ILI (UG) Charter was returned as his running mate. The Deputy Governor candidate of the Plateau State PPC is a multilingual (CEFP1-A2 certified) Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria,  a seasoned Tax Consultant, having worked with the Federal Inland Revenue Service for  eleven (11)years.  

He is also a Public- Private Partnership (PPP) International Law Institute-ACLE certified practitioner. He is an international trade consultant to several countries and blue chip companies; some of the companies he serves as company secretary. He is the Principal Legal Consultant of MN. DONGTOe Law Firm, a team of legal solicitors based in Nigeria. A devoted Catholic and currently serves as the Financial Secretary of the Catholic Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter. He is a humanitarian and philanthropist. His hobbies include cycling, swimming, reading and sightseeing.
